Sustainability at the heart of CostaTerra

As stewards and custodians of CostaTerra, our aim is to establish a flourishing community and a thriving ecosystem, grounded firmly in the values of sustainable development.

CostaTerra Golf & Ocean Club occupies a spectacular landscape of immense natural beauty and diversity within the EU’s Natura 2000 conservation network. Discovery Land Company takes its role as stewards and custodians of this land seriously. Our aim is to establish a flourishing community and a thriving ecosystem, grounded firmly in the values of sustainable development and management.

Sustainable Master Plan

Discovery Land Company worked carefully with experts to develop a truly sustainable master plan for CostaTerra. This plan encompasses the complete ecosystem in our area and allows us to meet the needs of our member's families without compromising the needs and interests of future generations.
  • Natural Landscape Management

The landscape palette at CostaTerra uses only native plant species. This not only promotes biodiversity; it also makes for a far more resilient and healthier natural environment within the community. Landscaping managed in this way does not require pesticides, fertilizers, excess irrigation, or substantial upkeep to maintain its health and vitality. This regenerative approach also will naturally promote soil health and carbon sequestration, while ensuring critical habitat for threatened native plant and animal species.
  • By choosing to use 40 percent less grass than your typical championship course and selecting a slow growing and resilient grass type, called Zeon Zoysia, we have greatly reduced our environmental footprint. (40 percent less grass, 45 percent fewer inputs, and 45 percent less water per meter squared).
